Ozark Henry is Piet Goddaer’s stage name. Since David Bowie praised Ozark Henry’s debut album in 1996 as one of his favorites, the Belgian artist has successfully produced music ranging from avant-garde electronica to pop and classical music, collaborating with legendary artists like Jah Wobble, Jackie Liebezeit, Martin Glover, Martina Topley Bird and Toots Thielemans, among others, as well as renowned orchestras like the Metropool Orchestra and Belgium’s National Orchestra. His work is applauded and recognised internationally and has won numerous gold and platinum awards.
Ozark Henry is an artist with synesthesia and his universe is defined by a blending of craft with experiment, audio with visual, heritage with technology. TEDx San Francisco and Google New York invited him to talk about his groundbreaking work in 3D immersive sound, and AES and NYU invited him to perform on the holodeck with his immersive performance project “Maps To The Stars”. Ozark Henry dedicates all his time and effort to explore the possibilities and opportunities of immersive sound in art, architecture and in the medical arena. To do so, he created Studio Ozark Henry, a unique recording and production studio located in a small coastal town in Belgium. He is a UN Goodwill Ambassador against human trafficking, working with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and local NGOs to raise awareness about this modern day form of slavery and to support the Blue Heart Campaign and the Trust Fund for Victims of Human Trafficking.
